Meet the Team – Emily McCormack

From crochet cardigans to 5 star Sunday roast dinners, newest team member Emily McCormack can do it all. After studying an MA in History, Emily joined us from the University of York as an Account Coordinator and has smashed her first 3 months with Touchdown, resulting in a recent promotion to Junior Account Executive!

We asked a few quick-fire questions to get to know our newest teammate a little bit better:

Do you have a hidden talent?

I can crochet! I made lots of cardigans and jumpers during lockdown, and I’m currently making a huge blanket.

Camping or glamping?

Glamping! Give me a proper bed any day!

Fun fact about you?

I make a great Sunday Roast.

Why Touchdown PR?

The culture is so welcoming! I really wanted to work somewhere where there was a real sense of community, and Touchdown has such a strong one. Everyone is extremely friendly, helpful and supportive, and you really feel like everyone is working together. Little things like the mentor scheme make such a big difference to how supported you feel. Plus there are some great socials, which is always a bonus!

First CD you ever bought?

Pop Princesses 2.

What are you currently reading?

I’m reading a book called Ships Of Heaven: The Private Life of Britain’s Cathedrals by Christian Somerville – but I promise I’m not as boring as that makes me sound! I also just finished Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club, which was as good as everyone says it is. If you haven’t read it you should definitely check it out.

Favourite place you’ve visited?

My Dad’s family are from a small coastal town in Cork, Ireland, and the whole area around where they live is so beautiful. There are some incredible cliffside walks along the coast – and my favourite pub is there!

Greatest achievement?

Getting a first in my History degree!

What would the title of your autobiography be?

Cakes and Castles: One Woman’s Journey.

Describe yourself in 3 words?

Optimistic, friendly and nerdy.

Touchdown is always looking for fresh talent to join their team, so if this would be something of interest, be sure to check out our current vacancies today!
