From Paris To Farnham – Strengthening International Relations
As an international PR agency, we recognise the importance and benefit of working closely with our colleagues across the globe to effectively benefit our clients who work across multiple regions. In today’s modern world, it is easy to spend a lot of time with speaking with colleagues on emails and calls – but we believe nothing beats meeting face-to-face on a regular basis.
Last week, we were delighted to welcome two members of Touchdown’s French team to our UK office: Anastasia and Valerie. This visit was planned so that we could get to know our international colleagues better, enhance our collaborative efforts and learn more about each other’s respective markets and PR practices.
During their two day visit, Anastasia and Valerie worked with us in our UK office. They joined client calls, had their own desks in our open plan office and gave us insightful presentations about their region and how PR is conducted there. This opened up a dialogue for us to discuss the PR differences and similarities between our respective regions, which was a useful reminder to some of the team and great insight for the more junior team members. Working together over the two days made us feel closer as a team, and will no doubt improve our working relationships.
As well as working together, we also got to know each other better through team lunches and stereotypical English pub dinners. But it wasn’t all pie and mash, this allowed us to improve our rapport with each other – something that will, no doubt, strengthen our international collaboration.
It was great to spend time with Anastasia and Valerie, and we look forward to some of our team heading over to their office in Paris in the coming months, as well as another visit from them soon.
